A CREATIVE COMMUNITY FOR AUTISTIC ADULTS.

STUDIO HUB IS A MONTHLY CREATIVE PROGRAMME FOR AUTISTIC ADULTS, DELIVERED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY.

Meeting at the Gallery, participants explore the collections, develop their own artistic practice and work collaboratively on creative projects in a supportive and welcoming environment. Guided by artist Marc Woodhead and Belinda Sculley from the National Portrait Gallery, and supported by the Turtle Key Arts pastoral team, members are encouraged to experiment with new ideas, build confidence and develop their creative skills.

Studio Hub was created in response to a need identified by Turtle Key Arts over many years of working with autistic children and young people. As participants grew older, many wanted opportunities to continue their creative journeys, maintain friendships and remain connected to a supportive artistic community. For some members, Studio Hub represents the continuation of a creative journey that began with Turtle Key Arts in childhood.

The programme offers a space where autistic adults can express themselves creatively, connect with others and develop their own work at a pace that suits them. Through regular sessions, participants build confidence, strengthen social connections and develop a sense of ownership over their creative practice.

Members are currently working towards an exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in 2027, showcasing their creativity, achievements and unique perspectives.

Studio Hub is free to all participants and is delivered by Turtle Key Arts in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery.
