CELEBRATING DISABLED ARTISTS, CREATIVITY AND CULTURE.

JOY IS A DISABILITY ARTS FESTIVAL CELEBRATING THE CREATIVITY, TALENT AND VOICES OF DISABLED AND NON-DISABLED ARTISTS ACROSS WEST LONDON.

Produced by Turtle Key Arts in partnership with the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, JOY brings communities together through an inspiring programme of visual art, music, theatre, dance and participatory events.

Led by a steering group of disabled artists and arts practitioners, the festival champions authentic representation and places disabled voices at the heart of its artistic programme. Each year, JOY presents performances by local artists and companies, commissions new work, hosts family events, networking opportunities and creative workshops, creating a welcoming space where artists and audiences can come together to share ideas, celebrate creativity and build connections.

Alongside the annual festival, JOY works throughout the year to support disabled artists and increase opportunities for creative participation. Through commissions, workshops and collaborations with schools, community groups and cultural organisations, the festival nurtures new talent, encourages artistic development and helps create a more inclusive cultural landscape.

Since its launch, JOY has established itself as an important celebration of disability arts in West London. Shortlisted for Community Project of the Year at The Stage Awards, the festival continues to champion artistic excellence, challenge perceptions and demonstrate the richness and diversity of disabled-led creativity.
