COVID 19 UPDATE FROM TURTLE KEY ARTS
Turtle Key Arts - like all of our colleagues and partners in the arts -have been working hard to make sure that we have an industry to continue working in and a future for our sector. On the 5th July the Government announced a £1.57 billion rescue package to help the arts, culture and heritage institutions. It has been good to see some of the many venues and organisations we work with and tour to get much needed funding to ensure they can survive and start to open their doors again.
We are still concerned about how the latest lockdown will impact our sector especially the smaller arts organisations and the many freelance artists.
We do however continue to nurture hope, hope for a bold, brave and new future.
Turtle Key Arts promise to keep lobbying and listening. We promise to remain dedicated to our collaborating artists, partners and to our participants. We promise to continue to roll out as many of our core outreach and participation activities as possible. We promise to continue sharing the work of our collaborating companies over the coming months. We also promise to come up with new innovative ways to reach all of you. We promise that we are still here and we care for the future of the arts. We believe that using the arts to reach people, change lives and allow creativity and freedom of expression seems even more important now.

Here are some thoughts from some of the participants and artists involved in the projects we have run over these last few months.

the daily grind! - A Participant
Shared experiences are very hard to come by in our new locked down world. Learning and performing music together provides a great structure and opportunity for creativity, companionship and having fun together. A particpant
Thanks to you and all your colleagues for keeping such an inspiring part of our lives going during lock down. - Husband of a participant
Seeing Ingrid and our friends. Feeling part of a group so we were no longer lonely during Lockdown- Young Amici participant
Would just like to say, as a direct beneficiary, a big thank you for all of the work that you have put into enabling TKA projects to keep running so well...It's been a massive boon for me to be able to continue working over this lockdown, and it would have been a very different experience had I not had the Turtle Opera project as part of my week. So thank you : ) A freelance artist
Thank you for visiting our website and we look forward to a time when we can get back to connecting in person with our audiences and our communities and to celebrating 30+ years of our work with you all.
Ali, Charlotte and all the Turtle Key Arts team.
