IT IS WITH GREAT REGRET THAT AMICI DANCE THEATRE COMPANY'S 40TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW "AMICI'S ONE WORLD:WEALTH OF THE COMMON PEOPLE" WILL BE NOW BE RE-SCHEDULED. AS SOON AS WE KNOW MORE INFORMATION WE WILL MAKE THAT PUBLIC.
Amici Dance Theatre Company will perform their 40th Anniversary Show at the Lyric Hammersmith 20-23 May 2020.
The full company production "Amici's One World:wealth of the common people" tells the personal and sometimes harrowing stories of a few of the refugess and displaced people in the world today.
With over 80 disabled and non-disabled performers on stage, many specially invited from all over the world, this festival of colour and music, tragedy and comedy will be Amici’s biggest production to date.
Directed by Amici’s artistic director, Wolfgang Stange, and devised by the company the show will celebrate the beauty, love and unity of people from different cultures across the globe and be part of a celebratory week of workshops, a photographic exhibition and films.
“The inspiration for me to create an awareness of the atrocities that are plaguing our planet, was the bomb attack on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka. It is more relevant than ever to remind ourselves that in order to change things, we have to relive some of the horrors, but not to lose sight of hope. Without hope we would be lost indeed. Amici shows that sharing and celebrating each other‘s difference is the only way forward.” Wolfgang Stange
