“You have to see Grania in action: she is a highly skilled circus performer, storyteller and connector, lighting up the entire stage.” LucyLovesCircus on He Ain’t Heavy

Atlas - 1 hour - 3 performers

Watch a short promo filmed during the ACE funded Research & Development at Worthing Theatres.

Oddly Moving will retell the Greek Myth of Atlas using circus (balancing, acro-balance, juggling), autobiographical story-telling, physical theatre, audience interaction, projections, object manipulation and a rudimentary understanding of physics to shine a light on the individual universes we each carry; our personal burden of what-ifs, joys, regrets and turning points.

Atlas, was punished by Zeus for leading an army against him, condemned to hold up the heavens for all eternity; a magnificent burden and Atlas is the only person strong enough to hold it. Oddly Moving’s hour long show looks at how we each manage the “weight” upon our shoulders - drawing on the personal stories of 3 circus performers. What happens if they let go?

Atlas is Oddly Moving’s second show, following the successful U.K. tour of debut show He Ain’t Heavy in 2018.

“An incredibly poignant and intimate portrayal of sibling love through puppetry and an aerial swing.” LucyLovesCircus on He Ain’t Heavy
